The Wider Church Ministry Team (WCM) strengthens and encourages relationships between the conference and local congregations with global, ecumenical, and interfaith partners. View our Mission Statement.
WCM seeks to coordinate and provide information about partner churches, visits from missionaries, and mission trips all over the world. This ministry is also the connection point at the conference level for dialogue and celebration with our sisters and brothers of other denominations and other faiths. WCM works closely with Common Global Ministries to arrange visits to the Conference by missionaries and to maintain contacts with partner churches.
The WCM is responsible for promotion of the One Great Hour of Sharing all-church offering - and is delighted that in each of the most recent years the CPC has been at or near the top in per capita giving and the number of churches participating in this special offering.
Other activities and duties of the team include:
- Development and training of Mission Interpreters
- Sponsorship of Relief/Rehabilitation Work Trips
- Sponsorship of Immersion Ministry Trips
- Promotion of Community Development in matters of Justice and Health
- Articulation of Issues of Human Rights
