CPC at Portland Pride
March (or Cheer!) in the Pride Parade
July 19 | North Park Blocks
Join our combined ecumenical contingent to walk with joy or support from the sidelines. Episcopal, Lutheran and UCC siblings will once again march together! No registration is required to march.
Ways to participate:
Parade Day: Sunday, July 19
Option 1: Gather at Trinity Episcopal CathedralThose attending worship at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral for the 10:00 a.m. service will walk together from Trinity to our place in the parade lineup (88)
Option 2: Meet at the Parade LineupOur spot in the lineup for the parade is 88. A special blessing led by me and Deacon Jack Mandeville will begin at noon in the 700 block of NW Flanders. There's a map of those bocks and how the parade route will go here: https://portlandpride.org/lineup2026
Option 3: Sidewalk Contingent & DonationsNot up for marching? Join our sideline cheering group! We are also collecting donations of bottled water to distribute to parade-goers. RSVP/Questions: To let us know you're coming or to help with water donations, contact Dianne Eller at dianne.j.eller@gmail.com.
We are setting up on Davis St. between 3rd and 4th streets. I usually try to arrive around 9 am to set up and park nearby. There are parking lots on both 3rd and 4th Streets. You may want to bring your own seating and water. We can always use extra coolers and ice as well. I will also have bowls of water for pets who are marching or walking by.
Volunteer at the Sacred Space Tent
July 18–19 | Portland Waterfront Park
Serve as a welcoming presence offering hospitality, water, blessings, and Holy Communion to festival-goers. It is a profoundly moving experience to share the message that God loves them just as they are. Join us at the Sacred Space booth where pastoral and lay volunteers offer a place of hospitality and respite, where festival goers can sit and rest with a cold bottle of water, receive Holy communion or a blessing, share their stories, put on a temporary tattoo (and sometimes receive a hug), and hear that God loves
The Commitment: Sign up for a 2-hour shift (1 clergy, 2 lay people per team).
Training (Required for new volunteers): Thursday, July 9 (Zoom, 7–8 PM).
Sign Up To Volunteer Here. Questions? : Contact Katy Rustvold.
