Interfaith Service to Call Idaho Leaders Toward Justice and the Common Good

Sunday, January 11, 2026 | 2:00–3:00 PM | Idaho State Capitol Steps

Boise, ID — As the 2026 Idaho Legislative Session begins, people of faith and conscience from across the Treasure Valley will gather for an Interfaith Worship Service on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM on the steps of the Idaho State Capitol

This public service of prayer and witness will call Idaho’s elected leaders back to the sacred responsibility of governing with justice, humility, and care for all people. The gathering will include prayer, music, and reflection, with Rev. Josh offering the sermon.

Participants will come together to reject legislation that dehumanizes and devalues neighbors, and to resist the misuse of religion—particularly Christian Nationalism—as a foundation for public policy. Organizers emphasize that across faith traditions there is a shared conviction: every person has inherent worth, and love of neighbor must guide our common life.

“At a time when fear, exclusion, and ideology too often shape our laws, we are gathering to remind our leaders of their moral obligation to govern for the common good,” organizers said. “Faith should never be weaponized to harm, but lived out in ways that protect dignity, justice, and true religious freedom.”

The Interfaith Worship Service is open to all—people of all faiths and of none—who believe in human dignity, justice, and freedom of conscience for every Idahoan.
