Love Knows No Borders – Amplifying Our Prophetic Voice

Love Knows No Borders – Amplifying Our Prophetic Voice

Companions in Love,

The last week of October, I'll be joining with Conference Ministers from across the UCC for a time of shared advocacy, witness, and truth-telling in Washington DC. We will gather under the theme, "Love Knows No Borders" and carry with us messages and stories from our congregations and members to the halls of the Capitol.

In preparation, we're asking our churches and members to share stories of how you are experiencing the impact of federal policies, and/or witnessing how these policies are impacting your neighbors. The theme of "Love Knows No Borders" is broad enough to include any stories where borders, boundaries, or barriers are getting in the way of God's love. I commit to read through and pray over each of your stories, and will bring them with me to Washington D.C. to share with policymakers directly.

You can share your stories of impact in the following ways:

  • Postcards at Annual Gathering We'll have Love Knows No Borders Postcards and Children's Coloring Sheets at Annual Gathering for attendees to write a message on.

  • Download Files to Print: You can print your own postcards using the file at this link. You can also download Children's Coloring Sheets here. Then mail them to our conference mailbox, or arrange to get them to me.

  • Email Messages You can email a message to me to be printed out. Please use the Subject line, "Love Knows No Borders."

Because of my travel schedule, physical postcards need to arrive at the Conference mailbox or be in my hand by October 18th to be hand delivered. Emails can be received up to October 27th.

The Conference Minister's week in D.C. will culminate with a public witness and prayer service on October 29th to boldly proclaim a message of love and justice. Anyone in the area is invited to join us in person, and all others are invited to join us in spirit. More information about that should be coming out from the National Ministries of the UCC.

Over these next weeks, I ask for your support, your prayers, and your voices to accompany me and other Conference Ministers along this journey.  Let us be the church for this time and this place, a church that loudly proclaims, "Love Knows No Borders!"

Yours in the struggle,
Tyler
