New Camp Adams Staff!

We're thrilled to announce our new staff at Camp Adams, Natalie Lucker and Brendan Blake, who will begin their work on March 16th.

After carefully reviewing multiple applications and conducting initial interviews and a second round of interviews with candidates, the Camp Adams and Outdoor Ministries Team was pleased to present Natalie Lucker and Brendan Blake as their clear choices for the two positions, respectively. Natalie and Brendan are a married couple who are currently serving in similar positions in camps in Massachusetts.

Natalie grew up in Corvallis where she attended the Corvallis UCC, and brings a love of Camp Adams from her youth. Brendan is from New York but fell in love with Oregon when he first came out here. The time they spent with June Boutwell walking the camp and learning about its unique opportunities evoked excitement for the possibilities of strengthening the camp programs and the facilities.

In each consecutive interview with them, Tyler and the Camp Adams and Outdoor Ministries Team became more excited to bring these two young but experienced people to be part of the Central Pacific Conference staff. We are thrilled to begin introducing them to our members and churches in the CPC, and look forward to their arrival at camp on March 16th.

We're also grateful for June Boutwell and Charlie Hill who will stay on through March 31st to provide a smooth transition.

A little bit more about Natalie and Brendan…

Natalie

Natalie Lucker grew up in Oregon and attended First Congregational UCC Corvallis through high school. She has been working in the summer camp industry for more than 15 years and is passionate about creating meaningful outdoor experiences for children and adults. Most recently, she has worked as a camp director and outdoor program specialist for the Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts, living on-site and managing one summer camp from June through August and supporting the program development and implementation for four camps during the offseason. Before moving to Massachusetts, Natalie worked for the Girl Scouts of Oregon & Southwest Washington. In addition to loving all things related to camp and the outdoors, Natalie enjoys books, aquariums, houseplants, and gardening.

Brendan

Originally from Upstate New York, Brendan spent his summers hiking and camping in the Adirondack Mountains. In 2013, he moved to Oregon on a whim and a year later, met his future wife, Natalie. After a decade living in and exploring Oregon, Brendan moved to Massachusetts in 2022 and since then has worked as a Camp Ranger for the Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts, managing two summer camp properties and assisting with major property upgrade projects. With a background in woodworking and carpentry and a love for nature, Brendan is excited to bring his knowledge and passion back to Oregon. He enjoys antiquing, woodworking, hiking, and supporting Arsenal F.C.
